Meet halfway in Manila
For a group meeting in Metro Manila, the fairest points are usually Cubao, EDSA-Taft, Doroteo Jose-Recto or Ayala - stations where the LRT-1, LRT-2 and MRT-3 lines meet or that sit on EDSA. Which one is fairest depends on where everyone starts: togather times each person door to door and finds the spots where nobody is stuck with a much longer trip.

Where groups actually meet in Manila
Interchanges that work as a fair midpoint for most groups. togather will not always land on one of these - it answers for your actual starting points - but they are the ones that come up again and again.
Araneta Center-Cubao
LRT-2 and MRT-3
Where the east-west LRT-2 crosses the MRT-3 on EDSA, with Gateway Mall and the Araneta City malls on top, so it is the default fair answer for a group spread across Quezon City and the east.
EDSA / Taft Avenue
LRT-1 and MRT-3
The southern crossing between the LRT-1 and the MRT-3, and the fair pick for a group split between Pasay, Parañaque and the EDSA corridor.
Doroteo Jose / Recto
LRT-1 and LRT-2
The old-city crossing between the two LRT lines, and fairer than anything on EDSA for a group living in Manila proper, Sampaloc or out towards Marikina.
Ayala
MRT-3 and the EDSA Carousel
The stop for the Makati business district, with Greenbelt and Glorietta a short walk away, and an easy middle for a group along EDSA.
Ortigas
MRT-3 and the EDSA Carousel
The Ortigas Center business district, and fairer than Makati for a group with people coming from Pasig, Mandaluyong or the east.
Shaw Boulevard
MRT-3 and the EDSA Carousel
Between Ortigas and Makati on EDSA, and a good middle for a group split between the two business districts.
How to pick a fair meeting point in Metro Manila
Metro Manila is a group of cities, not one, and traffic decides how long most trips take. A friend a few kilometres away along EDSA can take longer to arrive by car than one much further away who lives next to a train station.
The rail network is small but it is what makes a fair meeting point possible. The MRT-3 runs along EDSA, the LRT-1 runs north-south on the west side, and the LRT-2 runs east-west. They cross at only a few stations, and those stations are what decides how long the trip takes for everyone.
Start with the crossings
Araneta Center-Cubao is where the LRT-2 meets the MRT-3, and the fair answer for much of Quezon City and the east. EDSA-Taft is where the LRT-1 meets the MRT-3 in the south. Doroteo Jose and Recto link the two LRT lines in the old city.
The business districts often make a better middle than the crossings. Ayala for Makati, Ortigas for Pasig, and Shaw Boulevard in between. Mixed groups are normal here: someone drives, someone takes the MRT. An hour on EDSA by car and twenty minutes on the MRT-3 can cover the same distance, so togather times the driver and the rider separately and lists the stations where their times come out close. Add where everyone starts and how each of them is getting there.
Meeting halfway in Manila - questions
- Where is a fair place to meet halfway in Metro Manila?
- Usually a rail station on or near EDSA rather than the map's middle - Cubao and EDSA-Taft are where lines cross, and Ayala or Ortigas can be fairer depending on where the group lives. togather works out which.
- Isn't driving faster than the train?
- Rarely at peak hours. EDSA traffic can turn a short distance into a long trip, while the train time stays steady. You can set car or transit per person, and togather times each journey the way that person will actually make it.
