How togather finds a fair place to meet

Every person's journey is timed separately, on the network that person is actually using, and every candidate venue is scored on how even those times come out. Add up to six starting points and a travel mode for each, and togather returns three real places, with everyone's travel time shown beside them.

  1. Add everyone's starting point

Two people minimum, six maximum. A street, a station or a neighbourhood is precise enough - nobody has to hand over a door number. Only the person setting it up types anything; everyone else just opens the link.

  2. Set how each person travels

Public transport, bike, walking or driving, set per person rather than once for the group. The same distance is not the same journey on each - a cycle route ignores the lines a metro trip needs, so a midpoint on a map is wrong for both.

  3. Compare the real journeys

Every candidate venue is timed for every person, on that person's own network, then ranked by how even the result comes out. Each journey time is shown next to the answer, so the group can see it is fair instead of taking it on trust.

What actually counts as fair

Two things are scored, not one. Every candidate is measured on the average journey time for the group and on the gap between the longest and the shortest trip, and the gap counts as heavily as the average. So a bar that is fifteen minutes for three people and forty-five for the fourth loses to one that is twenty for everybody. An average on its own cannot tell you who is paying for it, and the person carrying the trip is the one who decides whether the plan happens at all.

What you get back

Three ranked places, each a real venue with a rating rather than a pin in the middle of a field, and each person's own travel time listed beside it. One link carries the whole result into the group chat - no account and no install. Anyone who opens it can add their own starting point, and the answer recalculates around them.

Settle it in one link

Takes thirty seconds and nobody has to install anything.
