Meet halfway in Bangkok
For a group meeting in Bangkok, the fairest points are usually Siam, Asok, Sala Daeng or Chatuchak Park - stations where the BTS Skytrain and the MRT meet. Which one is fairest depends on where everyone starts: togather times each person door to door and finds the spots where nobody is stuck with a much longer trip.

Where groups actually meet in Bangkok
Interchanges that work as a fair midpoint for most groups. togather will not always land on one of these - it answers for your actual starting points - but they are the ones that come up again and again.
Siam
BTS Sukhumvit and Silom lines
The one station where both Skytrain lines meet, with Siam Square and the big malls right there, so it is the default fair answer for a group living along the BTS.
Asok / Sukhumvit
BTS Sukhumvit line and MRT Blue line
Where the Skytrain crosses the MRT on Sukhumvit Road, which makes it the fair pick for a group split between the BTS side and the MRT side of the city.
Sala Daeng / Si Lom
BTS Silom line and MRT Blue line
The Silom-side crossing, by Lumphini Park. A better choice than Asok when the group is weighted towards Sathorn, Silom or the river.
Mo Chit / Chatuchak Park
BTS Sukhumvit line and MRT Blue line
The northern crossing between BTS and MRT, next to Chatuchak market, and fairer than the centre for a group living around Ari, Lat Phrao or further north.
Phaya Thai
BTS Sukhumvit line and Airport Rail Link
Links the Skytrain to the Airport Rail Link, so it suits a group with someone coming in from the east along the airport line.
Saphan Taksin
BTS Silom line and Sathorn pier for the Chao Phraya Express boats
The point where the Skytrain meets the river boats, which makes it the fair choice for anyone coming down the river from Thonburi or the old town.
Tao Poon
MRT Blue and Purple lines
The interchange for the Purple line, and the fairest point when part of the group lives out towards Nonthaburi.
How to pick a fair meeting point in Bangkok
In Bangkok, distance on a map tells you very little. Traffic decides how long a road trip takes, and the rail network decides the rest. A friend 5 km away by road can be further, in minutes, than one 15 km away who lives next to a Skytrain station.
So the useful question is where the lines meet. Siam is the only place both BTS Skytrain lines cross, and Asok, Sala Daeng and Chatuchak Park are where the Skytrain meets the MRT Blue line. Most of a group living near the rail network can reach one of those four without changing more than once.
River groups belong at Saphan Taksin, northern ones at Chatuchak
The centre is not automatically fair. A group weighted towards the river is better served by Saphan Taksin, where the Skytrain meets the Chao Phraya Express boats. A group out north is better served by Chatuchak Park than by anything downtown. Sending everyone to Siam just adds a ride in and out for the people who live at the edges.
Mixed groups are normal here: someone takes the BTS, someone rides the express boat, someone walks from the soi. togather follows each of those trips from the actual front door, the walk to the station included, and picks out the spots where the times line up. Paste the link into the chat and let everyone check their own route.
Meeting halfway in Bangkok - questions
- Where is a fair place to meet halfway in Bangkok?
- Usually a station where the BTS and MRT meet rather than the middle of the map - Siam, Asok and Sala Daeng are the usual answers, and Chatuchak Park can be fairer for a group living north. togather works out which.
- Should we just take a taxi to somewhere central?
- Not always. Bangkok traffic can turn a short distance into a long ride, while the train time stays predictable. You can set car or transit per person, and togather times each journey the way that person will actually make it.
