Meet halfway in Casablanca
For a group meeting in Casablanca, the fairest points are usually Place Mohammed V, Abdelmoumen, Casa-Voyageurs or Derb Sultan - stops where the city's four tram lines cross or meet the trains. Many residents drive, so togather times each person door to door on the mode they use and finds the spots where nobody is stuck with a much longer trip.

Where T1 and T2 cross west of the city centre, and a good middle for a group split between the centre and the western residential neighbourhoods.

The city-centre railway station by the port and the old medina, and a fair answer for a group with people arriving by train from Mohammedia or Rabat.

A crossing of T2 and T3 in one of the city's busiest traditional districts, and fairer than the centre for a group weighted towards Derb Sultan, Mers Sultan and the surrounding neighbourhoods.

The square at the edge of the old medina, walkable to the Central Market and Boulevard Mohammed V, and an easy landmark for a group meeting in the old centre.

The beach end of T2 on the Corniche, lined with cafes and restaurants, and the fair pick for a group living in Anfa, Ain Diab and the western coast.
Casablanca Finance City
Tramway T2, plus car via the Anfa district
The newer business district on the old Anfa airport site, and a good middle for a group split between Anfa, Maarif and the south-west of the city.
How to pick a fair meeting point in Casablanca
Casablanca sprawls along the Atlantic, and its traffic piles up on the big boulevards that radiate from the centre. Two friends who look a short drive apart can be separated by a jammed roundabout or a stretch of the coastal road that crawls at rush hour, while someone further away near a tram stop arrives on time.
That is why the point halfway between you on a map is rarely the fair one. The city now has four tram lines - T1, T2, T3 and T4 - plus the BW1 and BW2 Busway lines, and the places where they cross are where travel times even out for a transit group. Place Mohammed V, Abdelmoumen and Derb Sultan are the ones to know.
Place Mohammed V, unless someone is arriving by train
A group spread across the whole city usually does best at Place Mohammed V, where T1 meets T4 in the centre. If people live towards the western districts, Abdelmoumen is fairer, and a coastal crowd can meet at Ain Diab at the end of T2. Casa-Voyageurs and Casa-Port become the obvious choice as soon as someone is arriving by train, whether from Rabat or from the airport.
Plenty of groups mix modes: one person on the tram from Sidi Bernoussi, another driving from Bouskoura, a third walking from Gauthier. Each of those people would pick a different spot on instinct. togather times all three trips, by tram, by car and on foot, from where each person really starts, and offers the places where the times are close and no one’s trip is unusually long. Send the shortlist round and pick a café.
Meeting halfway in Casablanca - questions
- Where is a fair place to meet halfway in Casablanca?
- On the tram, one of the crossings - Place Mohammed V, Abdelmoumen or Derb Sultan - or Casa-Voyageurs if anyone arrives by train. For a group that mostly drives, the fair point can be elsewhere, and togather finds it.
- Does togather include grands taxis?
- No. Grands taxis and other informal shared routes are not timed. Each person can choose tram, car, bike or walking, and the result is built from those journeys.
- Can it mix tram riders and drivers?
- Yes. One person on T1 from Sidi Moumen and another driving from Ain Diab are on different networks; each is timed on their own, and the result is the spot that keeps the whole group even.
