Meet halfway in Accra
For a group meeting in Accra, where most people get around by car, the fairest points are usually Accra Mall at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange, Osu's Oxford Street, Airport City or East Legon, depending on where everyone starts. togather times each person's drive door to door and finds the spots where nobody is stuck with a much longer trip.

Where groups actually meet in Accra
Interchanges that work as a fair midpoint for most groups. togather will not always land on one of these - it answers for your actual starting points - but they are the ones that come up again and again.
Accra Mall
Car via the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange and Spintex Road
Sits on the city's busiest interchange, where the main roads to Tema, Madina and the centre meet, which makes it the default fair answer for a group spread across the whole city.
Oxford Street (Osu)
Car via Cantonments Road, plus walking around Osu
Accra's liveliest strip of restaurants and bars, and the fair pick for a group living between Osu, Labone, Cantonments and the city centre.
Airport City
Car via Liberation Road near Kotoka International Airport
A compact district of hotels, offices and restaurants, and a good middle for a group split between the Airport Residential Area, East Legon and Cantonments.
East Legon
Car via Boundary Road and the roads off the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange
A residential district full of cafes and the A&C Mall, and fairer than the centre for a group living in East Legon, Adjiringanor and towards Madina.
Kwame Nkrumah Circle
Car via the Ring Road and the Nsawam Road
The big interchange on the Ring Road, and the fair answer for a group weighted towards Kaneshie, Adabraka and the western side of the city.
Achimota Retail Centre
Car via the Accra-Nsawam Road at Dome
A large mall in the north of the city, which keeps a group living around Dome, Achimota and Kwabenya from having to drive into the centre.
West Hills Mall
Car via the Accra-Kasoa Highway near Weija
The landmark on the western edge of the city, and the fair middle for a group with people coming from Weija, Kasoa and the coastal road towards Winneba.
How to pick a fair meeting point in Accra
Accra moves by road, and a few interchanges decide how long a trip takes. The Tetteh Quarshie Interchange, Kwame Nkrumah Circle and the Ring Road funnel traffic from every direction, so a friend who looks close on the map can arrive later than one who lives further out but avoids the busiest junctions.
That makes the midpoint between two people a poor guide. It tends to land in a residential street or on the wrong side of a major road, and it says nothing about whether either driver has to queue through Circle at rush hour. Trotros carry a huge share of trips, and ride-hailing has become the default for many people, but neither runs on a timetable a journey planner can use.
Accra Mall first, then the edges of the city
For a group spread across the city, Accra Mall is usually the first place to check, with Airport City a good alternative close by. Oxford Street in Osu suits people living near the centre and the coast, and East Legon works for a group in the north-east. Further out, Achimota Retail Centre serves the north and West Hills Mall the west, so nobody has to drive into town from the edge of the city.
Set car for the drivers and walking for anyone nearby. In Accra the time lost queuing at Tetteh Quarshie or Circle is what makes one spot fairer than another, and no map midpoint can show it. togather times each person’s actual journey from their own starting point, then looks for places where those times sit close together.
Meeting halfway in Accra - questions
- Where is a fair place to meet halfway in Accra?
- Usually Accra Mall or Airport City for a group spread across the city, Osu for the centre and the coast, and East Legon for the north-east. togather works out which from everyone's real driving times.
- Does togather time trotros?
- No. Trotro routes are informal and not timed. Set each person to car or walking, and togather finds a spot where nobody's drive is much longer than the rest.
- Why not just pick the geographic middle?
- Because a few roads and interchanges carry most of Accra's traffic. The point between two people on a map can mean one easy drive and one long crawl through the Tetteh Quarshie or Circle junctions at rush hour.
