Where groups actually meet in Barcelona

    Where the two busiest metro lines cross the FGC line running to the upper districts, which makes it the fairest option for a group spread across Gràcia, Sarrià and the Eixample.

    The city's main railway station, so it is the fair answer the moment somebody is coming from outside Barcelona - and two metro lines keep it fair for everyone already here.

    The main interchange on the south-west side, which keeps a group across Sants, Hostafrancs and Poble-sec out of the centre entirely.

How to pick a fair meeting point in Barcelona

Barcelona is dense enough that people assume anywhere central is fair, and the Eixample grid reinforces the illusion: everything looks equidistant. Two things break it. The metro lines are not evenly distributed - the upper districts run on FGC rather than the metro - and the city climbs towards Collserola, so a route that looks short on a map can involve real elevation on foot or by bike.

So the fair point is normally where networks meet, not where the map centre is. Catalunya is the only station joining the metro, FGC and Rodalies, which is why it works for almost any group. Passeig de Gràcia does nearly the same job with three metro lines and is considerably easier to meet inside.

Let the group’s side of the city decide

A group spread across Poblenou and Sant Andreu is better served by Clot, and one across Sants and Poble-sec by Espanya - pulling either into the centre adds a leg in both directions that served nobody. For groups straddling Gràcia and the upper districts, Diagonal / Provença is the crossing that matters.

Modes change the answer more here than in most cities. A cyclist on the Eixample’s lanes can cross town quickly, while someone coming down from Sarrià is on FGC.
